The call
An owner in Glenfield had bought a proximity fob for his imported Nissan Leaf from an overseas marketplace for a third of our price and wanted it programmed.
What we did
The fob would not accept coding — it was built for a different market frequency, which is the single most common failure we see with online-bought fobs on Japanese imports. We supplied a correct unit from van stock, programmed it, and had the car reading both keys within the hour. He still paid for the visit, plus the wasted fob.
The lesson
We are happy to program a fob you supply, but check the frequency and part number against your exact model and market first. On imports especially, the cheap listing is often the expensive option.
